Free the fremantle bmw

BMW produces roughly 2.5 million cars per year worldwide. Yet today, 260 of those brand-new cars, pristine, fully certified BMWs, are in danger of being destroyed for no good reason.

Free the Fremantle BMW

Saving 260 Cars from the Shredder

Our

mission

To stop BMW from destroying 260 perfectly drivable Fremantle BMWs and give these cars a second chance on the road, instead of a one-way trip to the shredder.

Tuv

approved

Independent inspections by TÜV and the and other inspection authorities confirmed the Fremantle BMWs are in perfect condition and roadworthy—yet BMW still blocks their release using legal tactics and intellectual property claims.

Environmental disaster

Destroying 260 brand-new, never-driven BMWs would waste over 1,800 tons of CO₂ and expose the deep contradiction between BMW’s sustainability claims and its actions.

mission

what we do

The Free the Fremantle BMWs campaign aims to free these 260 gorgeous BMWs from the clutches of BMW’s headquarters in Munich. We want to mobilize BMW fans and car lovers worldwide to prevent these perfectly good cars from being condemned to a destructive end in a shredder. Hundreds of eager enthusiasts could enjoy these German masterpieces for many years. Why should they be crushed?

Legal Case

Our battle isn’t just in the court of public opinion, it’s in actual courts as well. BMW has been fighting us tooth and nail through legal channels to keep these cars off the market. They argue that because the cars were in the ship fire (even though only soot settled on them), the quality can’t be guaranteed and that reselling them would hurt BMW’s brand reputation. They only shout that out, but they haven’t given any proof of that statement. BMW even went as far as deceiving the Court and making false accusations to the entrepreneurs and state misleading insinuations to ensure an court injunction!

Saving 260 Cars from the Shredder

why us

Perfect cars, wrongly written off
These 260 brand-new BMWs have never driven a single kilometre and were thoroughly inspected by TÜV and the and other inspection authorities—both declared them safe and in top condition. Yet BMW insists on destroying them simply because they were on a ship where a fire broke out, even though the flames never touched the cars.

An absurd waste of resources
Over 1,800 tons of CO₂ were emitted to produce these vehicles. Scrapping them now would waste perfectly usable cars and directly contradict BMW’s own sustainability goals. We believe that if they were built to drive, they deserve to hit the road.
